You can do this. If you slip don't beat yourself up just keep on going. We are all human, we all have stress and we all slip. I was very disappointed at first because I wasn't loosing much or as fast as I thought I should. This is a process. I just kept telling myself don't stop and I haven't. If I slipped, which hasn't been often, I decided not to deride myself. Instead I looked at what I ate and compensated by not eating other things for that one day, you know cutting out that dessert or that snack if I ate something sweet. Or an entree if I ate something at a restaurant. I take a sweet snack and a salty snack with me to work. If I feel like I want to cheat, make that mad dash to the vending machine. I figure it is better to have my NS snack than anything in the machine. Since I allowed my self that option I have never actually used it. I think just knowing I have that option keeps me from feeling deprived. Before you cheat stop your self, think and drink some water. Then decide if you really want that cake. latte or taco. It has helped me. I have been on this diet for about 6 weeks I have lost 10 lbs, have went from a size 14 to almost fitting in my size 10's. I have 20 lbs to go and I will make it. So will you. Now, no more bad talking to your self. Every day it a new day!!!! Look in the mirror and tell yourself you deserve good things and you can do this!!!!

I logged on looking for words of encouragement and here they are! I've been on NS 5 weeks and have lost 13 pounds - and, yes, I am already feeling better! I was disappointed this past Monday when I weighed in, though, because I had not lost any weight from the week before. I've been staying with it which, with my (lack of) self discipline at times, has given me a boost to my self esteem! I just turned 54 and, given that it's at best 'difficult' to lose weight the older you get, I decided I had to add exercise to the program. I started walking my dogs 2-3 miles 5 times a week and I have to admit that, although I didn't lose weight last week, my clothes are feeling not so tight around the middle. So, tsmith, thanks for posting, hang with it and I thank everyone who shared their experiences!

You can do it! I know exactly what you mean and it was nice to see that others feel that way and to read all of the words of encouragement you received. :-)

Hello everyone:

I was very motivated reading your blogs of encouragement. I have been on the program for a few weeks and the weight is leaving slow and sometimes I feel I should just quit and be the "Fat Girl". I know the program works and I just have to rededicate myself and get to losing.

Thanks everyone

hey there sweetie, i am with you was on ns in 2007, lost 30 pds, went off, and now 2 years later, i have put back on 20!, somedays i hate myself, but you know i feel like everyday i have the attitude now that i can do this, i did it once and i can do it again,, and try working where i work DENNYS!!!!!!

Hang in there..You can do this!!!!

I am so frustrated because I'm hungry and not losing much weight. I went from eating 3,000 calories to a little over a thousand, have only lost 3.4 pounds in the last 12 days... Fortunately, I know that NS works, so I'm sticking with it. Hope you do as well!

Stay Positive and remeber the key to this diet is portion control. So if you have to eat out remeber they give you 4-6 times as much as you need. Portion your food and toss the balance or put in a doggy bag. All all cost avoid fast food.

Drink lots of water cold when you get those urges.
