Saga of the Search....Part Deux! Jeans!
If any of you read my first "Saga of the Search" it was about a bathing suit; you can catch it on the second page of my Blog, if you care to read it. Next worse thing to search is a new pair of jeans and Beall's was the venue again. They were having a 30% off sale and my dear hubby caught the ad in the Sunday newspaper so off we went to the store. Now the problems begin. Normally I take a petite in pants or shorts but I was used to shopping in the Plus sizes so I went there. Raise the flag....way too big. Then I went to the Petite Department and completely confused myself with all the choices: high cut, medium cut, hip, high rise, low rise, boot cut, flare cut, boyfriend cut (what the heck is that And do I qualify...I'm married?), straight leg, relaxed fit and slim cut. I almost gave up and left. However my last pair of jeans was sent to Good Will so I was Jeanless! I grabbed 4 pair of different types and headed for the dressing room.Remembering the last episode in the dressing room I hooked one pant over the face of the mirror, I wasn't going to go through that again. The petites fit but the 14 was great in the waistline but bagging out in the butt. The next pair were low rise and I felt like they'd fall off if I sneezed too hard...can't have that. Finaly I tried on the 12 well that wouldn't work...I couldn't button them up. 14 to big 12 too small, yikes. Meanwhile my husband is waiting for me in the car and his clock is ticking so loud I could hear it in the dressing room. Ok, over to Misses. Now these jeans have NEVER EVER fit me. I picked out another 6 different styles in 2 different sizes and head to their dressing room. I would have taken more but there is a limit to the number of clothes you can take in the dressing room, I'm sure that's a safety concern due to the diminutive size of the rooms, you could strangle yourself in pants legs. The last pair, wouldn't you know it, fit. A little snug with a low rise waistline and even though I chose "short length" a little too long. I came out of the dressing room and almost ran into my husband. He was really unhappy this was taking entirely too long! It's just jeans he says! Men, they have no idea. I took the pair I just tried on and paid for them and when I returned to our car banned my husband from shopping with me for life! I am so thrilled to be in a 12 I can hardly sit still. Yea for size 12 not seen since 1996!

Congratulations! My recent shopping trip for jeans was very similar and the choices were overwhelming.

Great for you! I bought one two weeks ago. Haven't worn jeans in two decades! About your DH getting all riled-up. Poor guy. You have to give it to him, he did wait a long time. I've been married for a long time and learned early on that shopping is something he and I can't do together. Both of us detest it. Many happy shopping days to you as you keep shrinking.
