tell me something good..

Positive thoughts yield postive results.  I am going to leave you a list of things that are good for me.  Leave a short list of what is keeping you motivated and we can motivate each other.  So here goes:

1.  I have been wearing a size three now for two years!

2.  My goal weight stays the same for three years.  I will carefully monitor how many calories are going in this weekend so I stay at this weight.

3.  My plumbing problem is fixed at my home so that stress is gone and it cost me nothing!

4.  Holiday weekend is in full swing and going to see all my relatives between today and Monday.

5.  Labor Day is a big Italian holiday so time to see the once a year greasy pole climb at St. Rocco.  It brings back a lot of old positive feelings from being a child.  That started every school year and I have never missed one.

6.  First chemo cleared a lot of the bad symptoms I was having.  Going into this one this week really positive due to the changes.

Now you tell me something good.   Get psyched and have a good nutriweekend!

Good idea!! Here are some things that motivate me :

1. My daughter deserves to be proud of her mother

2. My husband has loved me at every shape and size that I have been - I want to be thin so I can feel beautiful for him.

3. I want to live a loooooong time and enjoy life to the fullest!

4. Being overweight has been the one obstacle in my life - the one challenge that I have not yet been able to overcome. I think the time is right to be successful in my weight loss goals!!

Have a great weekend!!!

This is a great idea Cheri,

Here are my motivations:
1) seeing the weight come off even by one tenth of a pound is motivation to keep going because that is 1/10 less that I have to loose. (I have lost 10 lbs to date)

2) My doctor said I was pre diabetic and it was reversable. The last thing I ever want to do is have to give myself shots daily or experience any of the associated illnesses that comes with it.

3) Getting back to my healthy weight and looking and feeling that good again.

4) I enjoy being more active and energetic

Enjoy your weekend.

Cheri,
You are very motivating. I think it is awesome that you are able to maintain the weight after you reached your goal weight. I have cheated by eating foods that are not good for me in the past and am surprised by how much weight I gain from it. The thought in the back of my head is once I loose this excess weight how will I keep it off for the rest of my life? How do you control the food to keep it off? Do you still eat the NS foods or just the grocery store stuff?

1. My boys moved schools, and my youngest son is starting to get used to his school (he made himself sick on the first day).

2. My family is healthy

3. My students this year...are awesome!

4. I have lost 23 lbs and counting.

5. I can say (honestly) that I eat to live...instead of live to eat.

6. I can take on any challenge with positive energy and enthusiasm.

Thank you so much for this post...everyone should list the positive things in their lives. I have read your post...and have been motivated by all. God Bless You...Niki

Hey Maria, I am so excited you are getting more energy and seeing things in such a postive light. You can stave off that diabetes and it is good you are doing it now. Thanks for sharing all of that with me and making my day.

Thanks also for all the kind words. I do not use NS food any longer but if I needed too I would. My weight stays very stable. I have learned to stay within a calorie range that keeps me at the same weight and not losing or gaining. I journal what I eat daily so I don't lose track. I am fortunate to be able to take in over 2,000 calories a day in my maintenance. If you would asked me years ago, I would have told you I looked at food and gained weight. NS will rev up your metabolism and you can get there. I am going to put up a link to my ch---eating blog. I hope you enjoy.

First, I want to tell you that you are an inspiration...you look fabulous and I am even more impressed that you have kept your weight off for two years now...my downfall, take it off, but can't keep it off.
Here are the good things that have happened for me this week:
1. Started to use the N/S Blog for the first time...love it and all the people, like you, that I have met.
2. Lost almost 2 lbs this week for a total loss of 62 lbs.
3. Started an exercise program...today was Day 6 of walking on the treadmill.
4. I am starting to feel like I can really do this and be successful.
Have a great weekend and thanks for all of you encouragement.

Cheri-You truly are an inspiration to me. I started on 1Feb. and as of yesterday I'm down 36.2#. My doctor had told me I may be showing signs of prediabetes and that's my biggest motivation; to avoid full-blown Diabetes. I have 6 great nephews and nieces all under the age of 8 and I'd love to see them as they get older as I never had any kids of my own. God bless and take care, Betti

woohoo susan!!! congrats on the minus 62 pounds. You are going to be successful and look at the exercise program as the next step of success. You will keep it off this time. I know you can. It is all a matter of keeping to basic principles you learned on NS and then watching your calories so you just don't go over the amount that makes you gain. It becomes natural even after awhile. Congrats again. nice to meet you.
