pounds vs. inches
Can someone please explain to me how you can inches but not pounds ? does that only apply if you are working out? I would think if you lose inches you should lose pounds also. I am confused.

Muscle weighs more than fat and takes up less space. If you are toning you will notice that your body gets smaller - even if it isn't reflected on the scale. Don't worry. Your scale follows suit pretty quickly!

yeap, I'm with Shannon. When you develop muscles, they are just heavier than fat., and those muscles do make your body heavier and also they tighten up your body, thus making is loose inches.

Cheers on you and you loose inches,

When I first started NS I lost 15+ lbs but no inches. Now I'm stuck in the same 3lb range but have lost 5 inches. My exercise has not changed so I'm thinking of it as a body adjustment. :) I'm ok with it as long as I'm loosing something besides my mind.

LMAO at avascout's response, but I'm in complete agreement! Also, concur with the others on the muscle versus fat observation. Being toned and looking/feeling better trumps a scale victory any time in my book! Just remember, toning and strengthening means less damage control to run after all the weight is gone... think in terms of bat wings on your arms, loose belly skin pouch, etc. UGGGGGGG who wants to have to endure plastic surgery after having won the victory against fat... so exercise, exercise, exercise and allow the fat to be used up and your body transformed into a leaner and meaner version of you! *wink*
