So excited for the Holidays!
I am just on a very thankful mode lately. Just in time for Thanksgiving. I am embarking on a road trip with the family to Vegas and Utah this Sunday. I am ecstatic to spend Thanksgiving with my sisters, brothers in law, nephew, nieces, aunt, uncle and dear friends. I have a ton of things to be Thankful for and this year I just added NS to that list. Last few years when I have gone to visit family and friends, I had packed with me a lot of shame and embarrasment.... for "letting myself go" as some people put it. When I moved out of Utah 6 years ago, I was in the best shape of my life, and every year that I have visited since,I have gotten heavier and heavier. This year I am leaving the shame behind and I am packing with me a little extra suitcase full of confidence and self esteem. I can't wait for my family and friends to see the fruits of my commitment to this life change. I am not even scare to fall off the wagon over the Holidays. I have a plan, a realistic one, and it requires discipline, sweat and even some rewards. If I eat a little more one day, I work out a little more the following. I will eat anything we cook, but I will cook better things for me and make sure that it will be portion control. I will eat wheat buns, not white, I wont skip the green salad this year...I will be addicted to water, I will measure my carbs. Sounds like a lot of work??? Maybe for some, but for me is the price to pay to feel this great... and it's worth every minute of it. Just little things here and there that all added up will make the differece. I just love being healthier and looking better than I have in years.... Stay strong all of you out there that worry about gaining too much wait during Thanksgiving weekend.... is the little choices that will make the big difference in the end. Besides, we all deserve to celebrate, we just need to know how to be smart about doing so. Have an amazing Thanksgiving week my beautiful NS family. I will be praying for all of your individual success.
