motivation
So I started this program 3 months ago now, and I when I started I went full force.  It seriously took me about a week to get off track.  My motivation is gone.  I have lost 10 pounds since that first month I began but follow the program maybe 3 days out of the week.  My thoughts are that this is gonna get pretty expensive if I stay on this track.  I have never used a public forum or used any of the online help that this program comes with so I'm thinking that maybe this is the missing link I am needing to get motivated to do this.  I'm hoping that if I look at these online stories everyday, maybe that's where I can find the motivation needed to complete this program the way its meant to be,

I feel your pain - thanks for reaching out to all your Nutri-buddies here.
What worked for me is my mirror - I didn't like what I saw and I'm sure everyone else thought the same thing.
I am doing this for myself and to live a better life. I have seen lots of Fat People and lots of OLD people - but I don't think I have ever seen a lot of OLD-FAT people.
You can do this - !
Fight on!

Hello Cupcakes, Since I don't know anything about you it is very hard to offer advice, but I'll try by asking a few questions. Why did you want to lose weight in the first place? How much do you want to lose? Are you happy where you are now? Have you been checked out by a doctor? Are you depressed?

I have found through personal experience, that while others can encourage you, true motivation comes from within. YOU have to do it for YOURSELF. All changes first start between the ears. Then actions can follow. Stay on course and review your motivation daily. Do you want to be healthier? Do you want to look better on your clothes? Do you want to be able to run a mile......? You get the idea. Look at it this way, you are 10 pounds closer to your goal. Every day on program, whether the scale moves or not, you are still closer to goal, because one day it will take another jump down. Sometimes our bodies just have to adjust.

Do not do this halfheartedly because it will only lead to disappointment and discouragement.

Regarding the expense: the way I look at it is, you have to eat. Junk food is expensive and does nothing for you but make you hungrier and heavier. I enjoy the "no-brainer" way of eating...no decisions to be made except for the smart carbs and power fuels. If you need to lose a lot of weight and have insurance, contact a counsellor who can tell you whether or not you can get assistance in paying for the program.

Stay positive. If you are depressed, try to do something for someone else. There are a lot of people who are worse off than you are, no matter what your situation.

Do this for yourself. Aren't you worth the effort?

Good luck.

Thanks everyone!
@cybertee...I was once fit and healthy. I would run miles and miles a day. Somedays 13 just cause I was bored. I blew out my knee half way through a 7 mile run and ended up having to get surgery. I was out for a while and because of all the excercise I did daily, I never really watched what I ate and so the pounds came on fast and so I guess you can say I got a little depressed. Now it is almost 4 years later and I have got to do something about this.
Good news today though. I ate my nutri system meals without cheating and I also just finished my excercise routine. Feeling good right now. And also proud to get back on this blog and say that I did. Thanks everyone for the "you can do this!" I don't feel so alone in this now.
