Michelle's Journey to a Healthy Life
My first mini goal.....
My first shipment of food will arrive tomorrow. I can't wait to get started on the program. I was just looking at the calendar and trying to decide on a mini goal. My ultimate goal is losing 145 pounds, but that goal seems almost insurmoutable right now.

My birthday is 8 weeks away.... going by the 2-pounds-per-week rule, it'd be 16 pounds, but I'm going to bump it up to a 20-pound goal.

By August 1, 2009, when I turn 34 years old, I want to be down 20 pounds..... at least. That would bring me to 278 -- it'd be great if I could be to 275 by then, but I'm not going to squabble over a few pounds b/c I think just getting to 278 will be wonderful. If I lose more than that -- great -- but I think that 20 pounds is reasonable.

I am not-so-patiently waiting for my shipment to come. We bought our first home a few months ago & I haven't ever gotten a UPS package here yet, so I don't know what time of day they deliver. My neighbor got a package once around 3 PM, but I don't know if they always come then or not..... but I'll be waiting by the door!! I'll be eating NS for dinner tomorrow!!

good for you, Michelle! I think your weight loss goals sound very reasonable. In fact, if you really stick with it, I think you will be pleasantly surprised and will have lost a lot more in that time frame. Follow the program religiously, drink your water and don't cheat! You can do this, I can do this, we'll do it together! Good luck!

Hi Michelle! Nutrisystem works. Just stick with 100%. I started two weeks ago and am amazed at my progress. It sounds like you are really ready to get started - I couldn't wait for my food to arrive. I had thought long and
hard about making the investment in NS because I don't have a lot of extra money. But I was investing in myself: in my self-esteem, my health and my future. I am so glad I took this "leap of faith." Best of luck to you.

Hi Michelle - I'm so excited for you on your new journey! I just received my first package last Friday and kept looking out the window everytime I heard a car go by so I know how you feel! Hang in there and stick with the program because I'm just starting my 5th day and have already lost 3.5lbs. It gets tough sometimes but when you overcome your struggles you feel even better! Keep us posted on your success!!

Hello there.

Start drinking your water now and eating more veggies and fruit to get a good start.

Go to the store and buy fruits, veggies, yogurts, eggs, I cannot believe it is not butter (lifesaver that one), etc.

Since you have over 100 lbs to lose, you get some carbs. Look for low calorie breads or bagels. FF cream cheese.

Good luck and you can do this. I know it seems scary when you put the whole number up. When I first started I had 103lbs to lose. 43 days later and it is 89. Not as scary.
