HELP! Boyfriend is trying to sabotage me!
This is my first blog.  BF was supportive at first, even bought me a fancy scale.  But then tonight I said that I went out and had some grilled, marinated chicken, with 1/2 cup of rice, no beans, no fries, and restaurant doubled my salad.  I have the rest left over for lunch tomorrow...So he was like, "Are you "already" getting sick of NS and this is why you HAD to eat out?" but it wasn't that at all; I'm diabetic, and was hungry, and it was dinnertime, and so I ate.  I think he's afraid of me losing the weight, that maybe a skinny GF will mean he has to marry me or something. How do I handle this and HIM?

My Tickers

First off, let me say hello and welcome!! I'm sure you are going to do just great on program.I guess I read the title the wrong way. I thought he was trying to GET you to eat off plan, rather than bringing up to you, that you decided to eat off plan by choice. In answer to your question; I would suggest handling the program first and foremost in your life right now. Make it your top priority and focus. This journey takes a lot of planning to do correctly, especially as you are diabetic. Try to always have your NS foods with you at all times. Have the protable lunch bars, muffins, desserts closeby- so you have something in an emergency.A little baggie of your own plain grilled chicken, or turkey, hard boiled eggs, fruits, etc. You made a fairly decent choice off plan, but remember that restaurant food is very very high in sodium, and marinades *usually* add a ton of fat and calories. We're never sure of what we get in restaurants, that's why it's recommended that we stay 100% compliant, especially in the crucial early beginning.Chances are, restaurant meals will show adversely on the scale over the next few days, due to water retention, and newbies
(and all of us really) tend to get discouraged, and may quit over that. You want to give yourself the full benefit of the program, as written, to be successful at your weight loss. You can do this.
I think your BF is trying to be supportive, by keeping you accountable to staying on program.
The very best of luck is wished to you, friend.
