I just don't get it?

Ok, I know I already did my blog for today, but I read another blog and I just don't get it?

I have tried all sorts of "diets" in the past and found them to be #1 rediculous, or #2 too time consuming, or #3 just plain did not work. When I decided to join up with NS I quickly realized that I was not on a "diet" I was on a life long comment to change all the bad eating habits that I have accumulated from all the years of trying those other "diets".

Anyway, this person said that NS was hard. Can you believe it hard? Just because you have to measure some things and buy your veggies, fruits, dairy, and protein products. How is that hard compared to counting, calculating, guessing, or trying to figure out what to eat and when to eat. I have never been on an easier plan. I have never had such an easy time losing weight. How is this hard? I just don't get it. How much brain power does it take to look at a book and say o' I have to eat a fruit and one dairy/protein for a snack and this is the serving size (the serving sizes are located on most products that you buy). How much effort does it take to quickly grab that measuring cup and pour into the measuring cup then into your bowl. Really. Come on. Are you that lazy? If you can't even get yourself to do that how far will you go?

Now, I know that NS is not for everyone. But I think when you call this hard you are looking for fast results that you don't have to work at or that you don't have to change your lifestyle for. I guess what I am saying is if that is what you are looking for don't look at NS because this is not about fast results this is about realization, learning, and changing. Realizing that you need to get healthy, learning how and when to eat, and changing those eating habits that obviously aren't healthy or you wouldn't be here.

I am sorry I probably sound like a snot but sometimes people really get to me you know. Thanks for listening. I feel better.

Have a great end of week NS family.

Keep on keeping on!!!!

sometimes I think it's mindset. Perhaps said person is really not ready to make the lifestyle commitment needed to be a success, and thus is finding ANY excuse not to stay focused on the eating habit changes.

I can relate. I did that SEVERAL times when I was trying to stop smoking. I did that SEVERAL times on all the past diets I have been on.

This time, as you mentioned, I'm not thinking "diet" but 'LIVESTYLE CHANGE'. As a matter of fact, I think we should all strike the word 'DIET' from our vocabulary!

Well said.

I do differ with you on one point though. I have been on an eating plan that was very very VERY easy. Didn't require any measuring, weighing, or even buying of special foods. Then again, that eating plan is what got my weight up to where it was. Put me on high blood pressure meds. Had my doctor and wife worried that I might be diabetic.

Yeah, I'll suffer through the buying vegies and fruit. If you buy the right size pieces, they don't take any measuring either.
