Eating out

Hello,

I'm on day 5 of NS and so far so good.  I haven't had a problem staying on the program but my hubby wants to plan dinner out one night a week.  We used to eat out 2 - 3 nights a week so I agreed to once a week to help him cope with me being on the program.  I need tips please.  How can I not blow the progress I've made all week in one night of eating out?

That way you are mentally prepared to choose a healthy item. Don't eat dessert. Keep drinking water (and get them to refill it often). Choose iced tea as a beverage. Get salad with grilled chicken or seared tuna as your entree and get the dressing on the side. Dip your fork in the dressing and then take a bite. If you go to Elephant Bar they have a seared Ahi salad that needs no dressing! You can do this - just remember that your goal is to lose weight. If pleasing your husband means going out to dinner, then pleasing his wife means supporting her new eating lifestyle. ;-)

What I did when we went out to dinner which we did quite often was I ate my NS meal at home before we went and had a salid(I even brought my own dressing).

It helped me learn that the reason we went out together or with friends was not for the food but the company, conversation, and fun.

The first time is hard and be sure not to go with someone who is going to try to get you to eat. I promise the side salid will be all you want when you see the lbs just sliding off.

Remember the reason you want to lose the weight!

Thank you all very much. We ate at Macaroni Grill and I had the roasted vegetable appetizer as my entree. I know it was roasted in Olive Oil so I'm sure I went over my fat but definately not carbs or protien. Actually, I couldn't finish it all so I brought home the left overs then ate a NS dinner.
