DAY 5
I said I wasn't going to weight myself until the week was up, but I did and I gained a pound.  I have done everything, even more exercise.  I didn't even cheat once.  I wanted to but I didn't.  So right now I am alittle angry, and disappointed.  I thought for sure this would work for me, I know I just started but to gain.  I guess I am just venting, Sorry.  I guess I will go for a walk, sitting here makes me want to go eat something.

Same time, same day, same clothing (or not), same scale each week...i gained my first week also. Now I'm here on it a year and half way to my weight goal. it's important to eat all your food -even the smart carbs and power fuels and exercise, which you are doing and that is great. Instead of eating you are going for a walk which is a change in and of itself. Your body will go through an adjustment for sure. don't give up and don't set yourself up for disappointment by weighing yourself earlier than what you commit to. Don't give up

And water! Don't forget to drink lots of water. When in doubt, drink more. It will happen for you, stay strong.

Your body and your brain are fighting each other. Your brain is saying I am going to get healthy, your body is saying I am lazy and I like the way things are and I don't want to change. Your body will hold on as long as possible to see if you will quit and go back to your old ways. If you do your body wins, but if you stay with it and don't give in your brain wins and in the long run your body does as well.
I hope that helps. I am a nurse and know this fact in my own brain, I am back to convince my body again that this is true. This time I won't let my old habits takeover again.

Thank you for the encouragement. I did weigh in the same clothes and same scale. I won't weigh myself until I finish week 2. I hope I can beat this battle. It is good to know that someone else gained the first week, it seems everything I saw everyone lost. I am drinking over 2 quarts of water a day, I measure it out to make sure. Because that is one of the hardest things for me. But I have drank 2 quarts or more a day. Thank you guys very much for the encouraging words.
