Just some thoughts

The boxes are color coded for you to easily follow. Inside the color coding is labeling that tells you what meal that particular entrée is designated for. Unless you’re color blind or illiterate, it’s pretty easy to follow the program. Let’s say you order the program and you don’t get the welcome packet and the daily planner to track all your food. You can call NS and they will send you a new one. Till then, you can also go online and use the NS website and print one directly form the site. If all else fails you can write down the foods and add the calories up yourself. The point is, you have to help yourself. Eating the food alone will help you lose weight, but you have to do some work on your end too.

We all know that the right attitude can go a long way. If you’re skeptical from the very start, NS may not live up to your expectation. The program is designed to help you lose about 1-2 pounds per week. The human body is a tricky machine to dial in. They say know one knows your body better than yourself. This is true to an extent. Most people know bits and pieces of how their body works, but it’s not an exact science. What works for one person, may not work for the next. NS is a template for following a routine that will aide in your weight loss journey. Will you struggle, yes. Will you be tempted, yes. Will you cheat, yes. Will you gain weight, maybe. The program works, no matter how you get there, if you follow the guidelines you will reap the rewards of your hard work.

Take a look at Bandmaster, Natasha, wanna_be_a_diva, and myself. We’ve all lost significant amounts of weight. If you were to look at how we got there, they would all be different. There is no right or wrong way to get there as long as you do. NS is more than pre-packaged food. NS offers a great community for support and direction no matter what stage of the game you’re at.

Glad you enjoyed the gym.  I hope there are at least 1-2 people there that make you want to push yourself to keep up with them for a change.

I agree with you and think your overall message is "take control for yourself".  I have read a ton of blogs of people complaining that they don't know what to eat or how to eat the meals.  That information is so readily available that I think people have to try to avoid finding out not to have it.  I don't know if it is some unconcious last stance against actually fully plunging into the program.  The good news is that I have seen multiple people who started out slow get into the groove in a few weeks and start experimenting with what works for them.

I think this experimentation is the most important thing that you can do on program.  For example, I have meet some guys on here that weren't losing weight until they added another slice of bread to each day.  Seems odd, but it worked for them.  But it all started for them by "owning" their plan, following it and then paying attention to what works and what doesn't.

Have a good one.  Tom

Thanks, Roc, for addressing some of the thoughts I've been having in the past several days of reading blogs.  And, it's so true that each of us loses differently, but we are the same on one level...we have lost, are still losing, and are totally utilizing the tools we are learning from NS.  We all utilize the friends here to give us all types of support, and the entire process is, for me, a very worthwhile endeavor.  And, I know that I have put my determination at the forefront of this process.  Without that, the program would not have worked as well for me.
Thanks again for your leadership & inspiration.

Another great Post here Roc-

We must take ownership of our individual destinies while on this program and afterwards our return to the 'real' world of eating if you will.
We are responsible for putting ourselves into the position of having to resort to this program to lose weight. We also are responsible to be accountable for what we accomplish. It is wonderful to have such a priceless support group on this blog but as you said, we have to kick in to make our goal(s) a reality.

Looking at the success stories of the individuals you mentioned and others only motivates me to do the best I can. I trust I will retain these lessons once I have hit my goal and 'go out on my own'.
I hope those out there who are skeptical or afraid, will hang in there and take it one meal at a time, one workout at a time, one small win at a time to reach their respective goals. -Joe

Said very eliquintley, Roc..!!
God Helps Them That Helps Themselves..!!
NS is not designed to do it all for you, you have to do some of it for yourself..!
I barely knew what to do when I first started, but was so focused and dedicated to doing this, that I took it upon myself to look, read and find out gradually what I needed to know. It's not a difficult program to do...!!
You can find excuse after excuse to fail, to quit or not have this program work for you, but it comes down to a choice...
Bottom Line.... You either are ready do it, or you're not ready..!!  Simple as that..!!
I want this program to work and therefore it will...  You just have to be willing to want it..!!
It was time this was said Roc...!
Thanks For A Great Blog..!!
Have A Super NS Day..!!

I'll never forget the day when a colleague of mine, who is a little heavy herself, commented on my weight loss early on and wanted to know what plan I was doing. When I proudly told her it was NS, she told me that she tried it once before but the plan didn't work for her. What I don't think she realized she did at that moment was just admit that a plan that WILL work if you follow it did not work for her - apparently she wasn't following it too well!

Fact is - you WILL lose weight on NS if you do what they tell you and eat what they tell you. NS can't give you a guarantee for legal purposes, but I can. Roc is exactly right. It will be different for different people, but all will lose if they stick to the plan.

A great blog Roc.  The big message is take control of your own body and quit trying to compare it to everyone else's.  I've noticed quite abit of "sniveling" going on lately and the information is out there for NS if you make the effort to find it.  This is a great program with a wonderful website and support system - learn to use it.  It won't jump in your lap so just check out the site and you will be amazed at what you will find. Good  luck and ever onward gang.  Sally

Thanks for the Blog. Sometimes we try to make things more difficult than they really. Being blunt can smack a person back into reality.
