Welcome to Nutrisystem Blogs

FREAKY FRIDAY CHALLENGE. Good morning friends. We will have a weigh in party tomorrow to end our June challenge and then we will continue on with part two of our challenge with a weigh in on Friday.

This week will be a little different.  We will have our last weigh in Tuesday to end the original Freaky Friday Challenge.  At this time we will check our pledges and see how we did overall.  Then for all that would like to continue on, we will weigh in on our Friday Party blog.  The secound part of this challenge will continue on until August 1st. Anyone wanting to join this challenge can do so now. All you do is pledge on the bottom of this blog.

It's summer time and what a great way to start with a challenge. Let's get our bodies ready for the time of their lives. Yes, I'm talking hot, Hot, HOT.  We can do this and feel great!  Remember Friday to Friday weigh ins so everyone will be the same.

We will report our loss on the Freaky Friday Challenge blog parties each FridayReport right here on any of my Freaky Friday Challenge blogs (Letsmove).

Stay 100% on plan.  Eating 3 meals, 1 snack, 1 dessert and drinking 8-10 glasses of water everyday, not just some days.  Follow the plan Nutrisystem has put you on.

Exercise 3 to 4 days each week for 20-40 minutes at a time.  Walking is a great way to start exercising. I walk some everyday and wear a pedometer. A pedometer is a wonderful little motivator that is worth every penny.  Wal-Mart carries them for around $4-$5.

Report your loss on my blog (Letsmove) on Fridays or before if needed.  This is a commitment and is a big part of this challenge.

We will have the biggest blog party each Friday and that is where you will report your loss for that week. We will have an Award Ceremony on Saturdays on the challenge blog to celebrate all your victories. Check in daily and report your good and off days, but not weight until Fridays.

Marie,  I only weigh on Fridays and don't step on the scale at all otherwise.  I don't really want to spoil myself and step on it today if that's OK.  I do want to continue until 1August however.  Have a good day,  Betti

Oohh scary - I was very very bad this weekend, stepping on the scale tomorrow will be a scary thing to do.   At least I have today to get off some of the water retention from some of the foods with salt that I ate i.e. pizza

Hi Marie...

well, the weekend was very emotional, as I had suspected it would be, but in the end, I am more confident than ever we made the right decision.  Skittles new daddy has sent us pictures already, and it's so obvious that we made the right decision for all involved.  I did a little emotional eating Saturday night...needed some comfort food, I guess, and had some Zucchini bread and rice crackers, but got back on NS 100% Sunday.  I was going to try to get in a good workout yesterday, too, but I spent most of the day cleaning and doing laudry, so even though I didn't have a cardio session, I did stay active pretty much all day.

Strange thing, though, I got on the scale Saturday morning and it said I'd lost another 1.6 pounds just from Friday.  Then I got on the scale on Sunday, and it said I was up 0.4 from Saturday.  Tiny fluctuation there, so I wasn't so concerned.  But then I got on the scale this morning before leaving for work, and it said I was up 2.6 pounds from yesterday!  (I know I'm starting to obsess over that darn scale...hard to resist stepping on in the mornings, though,)  I'm starting to think that when I knocked the scale around the other day when I was moving things around in the bathroom, I may have damaged it.  But then again, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I was weighing myself at about 7:45 am or a little later.  This morning, I weighed myself at about 5:30am.  Could I be retaining more water or something two hours earlier in the morning?  I also woke up with a monster headache this morning, so who knows what's up with my system today.

Well, I'm going to try to get in a killer elliptical session tonight for the weigh in tomorrow...but with the scales doing funky things, I'm a little scared to step onto it tomorrow morning.

Have a happy and 100% NS Monday all...
Cyndy

That's right Judy.  It is a good idea to do.  Maybe it helped some people stay on track this weekend.  It also may kick some butts back to 100% faster too, lol. Drink lots of water and stay away from the salt today.  Have a great day.  Marie

I'm glad everything went as planned.  Pictures already?  Wow!  That's fantastic.
Stay away from the salt today.  UMM, did you drink your coffee this morning?  Did you drink some water?
About salt.  A little goes a long way.  Salt will hold water in every cell of your body, so too much salt makes for a bloated heavier you.  How long were you traveling for?  When I travel a long distance I have a hard time going to the bathroom the next day.  It really throws me off.  How about you?
Just trying to pinpoint the gain and headache.  It may be tmi. Sorry.
Have a great day.

Not TMI at all...believe me, I need all the help and info I can get.  It was about a three hour trip up and three hour trip back down.  And now that I think about it, the foods I had over the weekend were a bit saltier than usual (the rice crackers Saturday night and yesterday I had FF Italian dressing with my salad - threw in a few croutons yesterday, which I normally don't do, NS Homestyle Cheesy Potatos for lunch and the NS Veggie Fajita - topped with super hot salsa - for dinner).  I had a small cup of coffee already (instant), but went and got some of the good stuff from the cafe downstairs.  I've been drinking water, too.  I think it may be my sinuses and allergies acting up on me, too.  All that on top of a very emotional weekend may just be triggering a very bad headache...not up to migraine levels, yet, and hopefully will not get there.  I took my presription meds, so hopefully, I'll be feeling better soon.

And yes, Skittles new daddy is so understanding...he's been doing avian rescue for many, many years, and knows how hard it can be to say goodbye.  As it turns out, we think that Skittles may have been allergic to something in our house (probably the dogs) because he didn't sneeze once on the trip up to Cumberland, and the runny nose also cleared up.  Yep, definitely the right thing all the way around.  I'm going to try to post the pix to my NS page soon.  The file sizes are huge, though, so I'm going to try to cut them down using some photo editing software at home first.

Thanks...
Cyndy

Cyndy - It is good to hear that you have already gotten pictures, if the man who took Skittles is concerned about your feelings and keeping you informed he is obviously going to take great care of Skittles.  Sorry you had such a tough weekend.

Marie - I was doing so well this weekend until last night.  Kohl's called and asked if I could come in to help straighten up before a possible CEO visit today.  So I went in thinking I would only be there 3-4 hours.  It ended up being close to 10 hours.  I was starving because stupid me was not prepared so they bought pizza for everyone and I ended up having 2 small pieces.  I thought ok I have been working out twice a day so I can work it back off by Friday and now you throw me this curve ball......I am up for the challenge.  I started wearing a pedometer yesterday and hit 15,293 steps.   I am praying that worse case I will be statis quo but we shall see tomorrow.  Thanks for being so true to your word with this challenge.  Robin.

Ha haa Robin.  Did it make you think twice about what you are going to eat today?  Good!  10 hours was way to long.  You did good to eat just two pieces.  That really wasn't that off.  It's the salt in the cheese on the pizza that will get you today.  Stay off the scale, it will scare you. I set my pedometer on miles.  I forgot how many steps make a mile. Do you know?

Not sure on exactly how to calculate the steps because I got a really nice pedometer that you have to input your stride length.  I am only 5'4" so my approximate steps for a mile is 3,172.  I read Valerie Bertnelli's book and she talked about another weight loss program that required 10,000 steps per day, so since I put it on more to play with it yesterday when I got called in to work I was excited to see 15,000.  This pedometer has a program that you can download to the computer with it and dump your stats and it will track and graph for me so I am really excited to see what it shows.  On a good note I do my measurements tomorrow and this morning when I looked in the mirror I noticed that I am starting to get that waist line curve back so please cross your fingers and say a prayer that I will see a nice change in inches.  I already have 48 ounces of water in so I should be up to my full 64 by the time I leave my full time job.  I am scheduled for the part time job tonight so I will run home do the elliptical and then keep moving at work so maybe the weight won't be to bad tomorrow.  I WILL BE 100% on plan today and until I leave for vacation on 11th.  Luckily the friend I am going to see has lost alot of weight lately so I know I have nothing to worry about with her.  Plus the fact she told me to make sure I brought my workout clothing.  Robin

A workout buddy on vacation!  How wonderful is that, and weight conscious too! I did the elliptical this morning before my shower.  Works for me.  After I took the puppy outside to do his business.  Yes I live in the farm lands (out in my nightie :o)). It's funny but I do my exericising in my pj's, lol. It beats taking too showers before work. Thanks for the water break reminder.  Marie

I guess pizza was the "hot cheat" this weekend.  I wish I could have stopped at 2.  Funny thing is, it didn't taste all that great, but I was so hungry.  My meal times were way off this weekend.  OK my meals were way off too this weekend.  I have my own curse of the 3's going on.  This is my third month, for  the past 3 days I was not 100% NS.  And the same 3 pounds keep finding me.  I know I have no one but myself to blame.  Tuesday weigh in scares me...bad!
DH and I went to 5 stores on Saturday looking for the wii fit.  EVERYONE is sold out and don't know when the next delivery will be. They may place an order for a certain amount, but no guarantee they will get it.  I was so excited about getting it.  Finally convinced myself, and dh, that the money will be well spent.  Only to have a huge let down.  I will keep looking.  I want one so bad!
Have a good day everyone!
