Welcome to Nutrisystem Blogs

Good evening friends.

So the kids went to the beach with their Grand Parents for the week.  DH and I went out to eat tonight, so I had grill white fish, steamed broccoli, and baked potato pieces and unsweet tea.  See it's not hard to stay on plan.  You just have to put into work what you have learned with NS. I can go just about to any resturant without worry.  Once you learn the principles of how to eat right and make it a habit, eating out become easy too.

The flavored water popsicles I made the night before last are good.  It takes about 30 minutes to eat one, but they would be better in ice cube form.  They are just too hard.  I use to like to make the fruit juice kind.  I guess if I put half juice and half water that may work too, hum... yep the wheels are turning.  OH the phone is ringing and it's Sherri, take later.

Hi Marie,
First you send your dd off to camp for 2 wks, then soon as she gets home you farm her off to the grandparents? Sounds good to me! lol  Have you heard from your daughter and son overseas? I remember them in my prayers.

I haven't tried your popsicles yet. I try to avoid any free foods if I can. My weight loss is so slow, I have a hard time voluntarily adding calories! DH and my 6 yr old grandson are flying in tomorrow night, and my GS is spending the summer with me. I might try making the popsicles so that he will have something to eat.

Enjoy being an empty-nester!

Well you see Karen my son Eric hadn't been anywhere this summer, so he wanted to go to the beach.  Sherri is the go go girl.  She loves to go.  Of course she wasn't going to stay behind while they when to the beach without her.  She called and said she had been swimming all afternoon and they just got in from dinner and she was go to bed in her clothes.  I told her to change before she went to bed.  She wanted a picture sent to her phone of the puppy, so I did it.  I couldn't go to the beach this time, so I stayed home.  Jennifer called from Korea at dinner time so I could only talk to her a minute.  She is doing fine but is counting the months to coming home.  Poor thing.  It was 6 am Sunday there and 6pm Sat. here.  She works all the time.  I told her to email me today and I would email her back.  It's so hard to get anything out of her on the phone.  I bet you can wait until your DH comes home.  You will have so much fun with them home.  Have a good night.  Marie

Thanks for the eating out tips Marie....my DH is on his way to Vegas for a week on business tomorrow ...I've got his NS meals all packed in a travel bag, but I showed him your dining out menu and he says he may try that once or twice during the week.  I know he can do it!   We've got our minds in the right direction!   Thanks again for all the inspiration . Hey Pam tell Al to eat salads.  He can get one just about anywhere.  Grilled chicken on top of a salad is great.  Salad bars if you still to the lettuce, green peppers, califlower, broccoli, carrots (little because they have too much sugar), olives (are a fat) celery, cucumbers, pickles, onions, radishes, grated cheese.  You get the picture.  FF dressing or vig. dressing.  Fast Foods- .5 a hamburger.  Think child size, no fries.  I hope this will help Al.  Have a good night.  Marie

Your welcome Pam.
OK so the Powerade Zero Grape water is good and does make a good popsicle but I think it would be better in the ice cube form.  Now I will try the Diet Sunkist in the freezer.  Looking to make that great zero calorie treat in a popsicle.  I looked at the juice but that just is too much sugar and too many calories for my liking.  So I openned the diet orange sunkist and pour it in the two empty popsicle holders, into the freezer it went.  I will let you know how that turns out tomorrow.  Marie
