As a veteran Nutrisystem member (8+ months) and a proud, card carrying member of the 50+ pounds lost club (ok, maybe there's not a club - or a card - but if there were I'd have one), I can say with absolute certainty that eating the same food all the time gets REALLY old. For about the past month I have been experimenting with alternate choices for NS foods and have been successful. My weight loss has continued slowly, but I have adapted my "sight" to identify real foods that fit in the NS parameters. In addition, I have become strong in knowing how much exercise is warranted to offset caloric variances (in English? Sure - how many walking miles it takes to work off the popsicle).
However, in the last day or two, I have found renewed energy for the total NS program. I am re-embracing the foods, eating exactly on schedule, changing up fruits and vegetables, increasing the water (again!), and I can feel my body shifting into losing mode again.
Truthfully, I don't mind the plateau. Not because I don't get frustrated, but because I have lived in this skin for many moons and I know that my body readjusts each time it sheds weight. It may go a week or a month (or two) at the same weight, but that subtle changes - things like fat reducing it's cottage cheese appearance or a curve reemerging or a clavicle showing through. I notice these things and know that my body is just moving the fat around to a place where I can work and portion control it off. My body is wise.
So, now, I will embrace my renewed interest in NS and, hopefully, see some terrific results. I am eager for some change.
Peace and joy ~ Shannon
