I don't even think I CAN have a completely off plan day anymore...

My brain has turned into a food calculator.  Yesterday we had to go to my MIL's house to provide tech support.  She lives in SF, so, after turning down lunch at her place, Hus-Bo and I went on a date.  We had lunch at a favorite Chinese spot in Japantown run by Koreans.  It's awesome!  They serve Kim Chee immediately, great jasmine green tea, and the service is fast and unobtrusive.  We ordered a small sizzling rice soup to split and one order of Mongolian beef to split.  Pre-NS, that table would have had 3 items plus soup plus beers and we would have finished all of it.  We walked out of there feeling good.  I did stumble at the Japanese grocer, though.  Those mochi things are dangerous.  But still, I only ventured about 200 calories off target.  I can't get upset about that after 8+ months of NS.  We ate on plan in the evening with an alternate dessert item.

Today I am taking DogBo out for a walkie and then Hus-Bo and I will go to the movies - we're walking, too, since my legs have finally recovered from hiking.  SonBo is on another vacation so we are left to our own devices.

I noticed something new today...my knees no longer completely disgust me.  Wahoo!  They are beginning to have a shape...as opposed to being blobby things between my hips and ankles...oh, AND I have full-time ankles!  Tobe mentioned in her blog that her ankles no longer swell even in the heat...MINE, TOO!  It's so great to put on shoes and know that at the end of the day they will still fit.  What a relief.  But that's water consumption, isn't it?  You betcha.  Water is your friend.

Have a groovy Tuesday.  You deserve it.

Peace and joy ~ Shannon

I like full-time ankles on me too. They're my favorite look, besides seeing a waistline again! Good job, keep up the good work. I love this program too.

Sounds like you both had a blast. How wonderful to go out on a date and not feel guilty that you over did anything.

Congrats -- You have a wonderful day as well.

I'm glad to see the hike didn't permanently ruin you. Being able to wear the same shoes all day long seems like such a little thing, but for those of us who used to puff up and have to carry an extra pair of shoes in case our feet swelled up too much - WOW what freedom.

I've been blessed with a small waist, but thick ankles...however, they're not nearly as thick as they used to be - thank you NS.

Yes....I did hear "4 weeks" somewhere, perhaps it was the trees?
