Incompetence makes me crazy...

On March 17 our television stopped working.  It's a big guy and we found a local repair ship that said they could fix it.  The guy came, gave us an estimate, and hauled the television away.  Two weeks went by...he couldn't find the part.  Two more weeks...he found the part but broke one of the components putting it in.  Another month...no contact.  Do you see a pattern here?  Well, flash forward to last Friday.  I reached the very last thread of my rope and told Hus-Bo I was going down there because the guy was either totally incompetent or pulling something.  Hus-Bo called AGAIN and this time insisted on the complete story AND the part number.  "I can't get the part."  You know what?  That's bull puckey.  Manufaturer's have to stock parts for 10 years past the original date of manufacture.  Hus-Bo got on the phone to the company and 15 minutes later the part was being shipped to us.  All they had done was change the stock number.  When we gave them the television model number the new part identification popped right up.

We went to the television repair guy today and handed him the new part.  He looked it over after being skeptical that the new part wasn't the same.  Well, except for the stock number, it is identical.  So this idiot just never took the ONE extra step to solve the problem.  And we had to wait 4 months to have our television repaired.  And now I KNOW he lied about ever trying to replace the part originally because he would have known how to get another.  It is a ridiculous scenario.  Supposedly, he will bring it back tomorrow evening.  We'll see.  Whatever the result we will never be using his company again for anything.

So, what does this have to do with NS?  Well, every time we had to deal with TVGuy, I was overcome with the desire to eat...sugary crap.  Luckily, I didn't give in, but I completely recognize the trigger.  So, even THIS was a learning experience!

I gave you guys the link for the fat free dressings (www.kozlowskifarms.com) the other day - we have now tried the ginger & teriyaki dressing and it's as great as the honey mustard!  Only one more to try...

Have a groovy weekend!

Peace and joy ~ Shannon

Some people just need a good hard slap in the groin, (sorry fellas). We rent in an area that has an easement 1/2 mile long to get to our house. The landlord uses a contractor to grade the road. When we call the management company to tell them it's due, or we have some other landscaping property issues, he always says he'll be there today or tomorrow. Always.

He always dilly-dicks around about getting to us, and it's usually at LEAST a week, AND it's usually Saturday or Sunday, OUR days off. I don't even know why he bothers saying he'll be out before, like, next month. He needs one of those slaps.

Several years ago I had a person tell me the reason their payment hadn't been made was because "the woman who licks the stamps was out sick"! WTF - sometimes people amaze me at their willingness to NOT take the extra one measly little step it would take to get the job done.

Mediocrity LIVES!! Groin Slaps may be warranted.

But good for you for not diving head first into a vat of chocolate....Bravo!!!

On a daily basis we have issues like this that UP the STESS level and trigger the old habit of heading to the frigerator to find our calm. NS has been giving me the tools and support to change those habits. Who knew there were so many here willing to share strategies and encouragement so that these new choices are becoming a way of life.

That's why I love reading your blogs...some just for the sheer enjoyment and others giving me food for thought...or NOt food for thought but ways to help me change. THANKS

Thanks for sharing your story. What ever happened to customer service? and taking pride in your job? Or are these just urban myths that I need to get over? Anyway, I really admire your ability to refrain from going back to the old ways. Congratulations, and please keep inspiring us! Cheri
