Come on over, there's a party goin' on! We take birthdays seriously around here and the SonBo Birthday Celebratory Weekend is kicking off. Thanks to all who wished our boy a happy day - he thanks you!
So the yard is spiffed up and tikied out, the BBQs are ready to go. All that's left is a quick house clean-up and food prep...oh...and the CAKE. I am well-known for silly birthday cakes. SonBo has been the recipient of Ka'a the snake (from Jungle Book), a dragon, an olive, bowling ball, a driver license...lots more I can't remember just now. For Hus-Bo's birthday one year I constructed a cake/twinkie couch...it was funny. Anyway, I am trying to come up with a cake for this year...who knows. It will spring out as I bake.
All of the party food is NS friendly. We decided on the higher calorie tofurkey dog for the vegetarian guests. It tastes good and that's the point. I am making kebabs with chicken, peppers, pineapple and mushrooms. Yummy AND well within NS limits! The kids are having non-alcoholic (duh) margaritas and mai tais...that should be fun, too. I just like seeing all of their happy faces in our home and knowing our son has chosen well for friends who care about him.
I may not be able to blog this weekend with all of the activity, but I wish you all a fantastic weekend!
Peace and joy ~ Shannon
