The Eagle Project, continued...

There is not an inch on my body that isn't bruised, or cut, or aching.  The Eagle Project is one heckuva workout!  SonBo planned this project, but there were so many details that changed at the last moment and so many challenges that the first workday left enough unfinished to required a second workday (and the cancelling of my much-needed massage - boo hoo).  The second workday still left enough undone to require a third workday before the next weekend.  Hopefully, on Friday, the strong kids will show up and the planter can be put together in 2 hours.  Once it's in, then it's all about planting.

There were a million SNAFUs.  SonBo was calm, cool, and collected, but as his mom I knew he was about to have a major meltdown.  HusBo and I almost killed each other (imagine the exacting engineer and the go-for-it carpenter...BAD COMBO, my friends).  On day two I fell into a posthole.  Nothing is broken, but the bruises are spectacular.

Food-wise I was abominable.  I fell into the worst of my bad habits - not eating.  I went practically all day on Sunday without food or water.  I was in "work mode" and when that happens I just don't stop.  Yes, I know better.  Yes, I am paying for it today.  No, I probably will never break that habit...but at least I am now aware of it and I did make up the water.

Today HusBo and I went back up to the site to widen the drill holes so everything will fit together better.  It's a wise idea.  Maybe one more trip mid week to get everything ready for Friday...I'm sure I have someplace without a bruise...

Peace and joy (and wish us much luck, please!) ~ Shannon

You're such a great mom! Is not eating as bad as eating too much? Another nutritional post hole to fall into--glad you made up the H20!

Now, we will really want to see pix--and maybe a couple of your more spectacular bruises, too!

Yup, I wanna see both, too: finished product AND spectacular bruises!!

Can't help it, it's no fun suffering on your own, you have to share and allow us to enjoy it, too :o)

You're an amazing family. Your son is reaching for the moon and you're helping him. My 17 year old son is reaching for the next level of World of Warcraft. :( I don't think I'll be getting the mom of the year award. But you are definitely in the running! Best of luck with the last work day.

Hopefully, when all is said and done the finished project will have no blood stains or body parts protruding.

I know when my hubbins has a tool in his hand, it is time for me to make myself scarce....he looses all hearing and becomes a teeny-bit obsessed.

You have every right to be a VERY proud Mom!

Love to all the Bo's

55 years later, I remember my Mom and Dad at Eagle Scout Time. There should be awards for "Parents of Eagle Scouts". LOL

I can assure you that the bruises are well worth the results.

Cheers and good luck all over you and Husbo,

You poor thing! That oughta count as your cardio for a few weeks at least...I think Chester's right, and you should get your own sort of parent badge at least.
Preferably attached to a nice glass of wine.
For medicinal purposes, of course. ;)
