TGIF and Help

Just wanted to change my avatar and show off my friend's new pet.  She is too cute!  Hope you all have a great weekend!

I've seen several comments and questions regarding birthday celebrations.  Well, I have a double-dilemma:  Not only is Thanksgiving coming up, but that day is also the day my birthday falls on this year.  Talk about trouble w/cheating!

So, I'm asking for a democratic vote:  Cheat just a little, or not at all?  I would rather not cheat, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Ok here's my opinion. If you can be really good from now until then you can cheat a little. Survey your choices on that special day. See what you really really must have. Then just take a small portion. If you can't cheat a little without pigging out all together then I say don't cheat at all. Don't even tempt yourself. I don't know if that's the right answer or not. See what other people think and maybe call the the counselors here and poll them? Good Luck.

It's not cheating if you use portion control! :) Besides a little extra to celebrate one day is not going to set you back a bunch. You'll just have to make sure you send all the leftovers home with the company! .... dj

The puppy is soooooooooo cute! You need to live a little. My birthday is Jan 4th. It gives me a diet delima every year. Every year I make a new year's resolution to lose weight and then here comes my birthday! T-day is so full of good for you foods I wouldn't worry about it. I wouldn't deprive yourself though because then you set yourself up for feeling sorry for yourself and then you might double cheat later. Or you could chose to focus on friends and family and a special activity. Or you could use sugarfree sweets and not worry! Myself, I'm looking forward to sugarfree pumkin pie! Have a good one either way. Here's to the rest of our healthy lives!

If one day of cheating is your biggest problem, you have nothing to worry about. Live it up a little for one day!

First of all, that puppy is so cute! I'm in the same dilemna. My b-day is Monday and I have decided I will NOT go off plan. However, I will on Thanksgiving. If it's just one day off plan for both Thanksgiving and your birthday, I say enjoy it. Eat what you want. Within reason. I'm staying on plan for Christmas too. My belief is that Thanksgiving day is about the feast and what it symbolizes. So, I've planned on going off program since I started on that day. But that's my only day off the program until I reach goal. I'll be good, and if you think you can do well and get back on the program than I say do it!

I love the dog and thank you for your positive post this afternoon. My wedding anniversary is Oct. 24th, birthday is Nov. 14... we have decided to hold off until Christmas to make sure that we have our dieting under control so that we can take one day off. Can you be honest with yourself and know that you have self control? If you have the slightest hesitation wait until Christmas, it is only one month away (and who knows, maybe a dress size!). Best of luck whatever your decision.
