The weatherman was right with his forecast--gorgeous day yesterday and I awoke to rain.  I allowed myself to sleep in a while this morning, I think my body may finally caught up with the time change.

As to another reason I asked about broth yesterday is because I'm to be on "clear liquids" the broth can't have anything solid in it.  I am still debating if I want to buy a box of Jell-o or not.  Of course it can't be anything red so may not buy it, we'll see come Wednesday.  I'm also thinking about some popsicles, I love banana flavor if I can find any.  Does anyone know if bananas have seeds in them?  I ask because I start my new box 3 days prior to my test.  I have to eliminate berries, nuts, and seeds for those 3 days.  I got 4 different cereals this time and plan on adding a carton of yogurt and some fruit to a bowl with the cereal instead of milk.  I normally throw some raisins into my yogurt but when I asked about it they said they may contain seeds and recommended bananas perhaps.

Have a great Sunday.  I'm off to my paper and shower before the car race comes on.  ~Betti~

Well in a little over 3 hours it will be officially spring.  We are supposed to have a gorgeous day before rain comes back tomorrow.  I just got back from the grocery store and got some addins for this week and part of the next.  I'll go back on Wednesday and get the "liquids" I need for my colonoscopy prep.  I'm curious about something.  They tell you to have at least 2 of your 8-8oz servings to be a salted broth of some flavor to help keep you hydrated.  I know I can buy bullion cubes or powder and put it in water and heat it up.  I also noticed today they have canned broth in the soup section, does anyone know how these taste?  I imagine it would be easier to heat up and then I wouldn't have leftover cubes or powder.  I'm not much of a "salty-fan" so I know it will be hard to get down because of that but if that's what they say to do I have to follow their instructions.  Have a great spring welcoming day everyone.  ~Betti~
I had another dermatology appt. for a total body skin check.  I had had a biopsy of an area back in '76 while in the Army but it was never removed because I couldn't get in to see the doctor until after I was already out.  I mentioned it to the PA today since it has a large scar over the area.  She looked at it and at first wasn't concerned but then decided to do a biopsy of it just to see if what the doctor told me back then is what it actually was, I never got a pathology report of it, just what he thought it looked like.  She also noticed my lower lip is quite dry, always has been, and I just put Chap-Stick or something similar on it.  She felt it was caused by sun damage way back when and recommended a prescription gel to put on it twice a day for 3 months.  She gave me a couple of sample packs and a 'scrip for it.  I had to stop at the drugstore to pick up a refill and asked the pharmacist about the 'scrip.  He asked if she told me how expensive it was and I said no she just indicated it is pretty pricey.  Pretty pricey is an understatement, it only comes in one size tube and it runs over $500.  He has my insurance info. on hand, put the info. in, and I still had to pay $207.00.  I sure hope it's worth the money and the hassles as otherwise I won't be very happy. She wants to see me again in 4 months to see how things are going.  This year is going to be another expensive one health-wise as I still have half of the colonoscopy to pay for and if anything is removed a charge for that, plus a physical and lab work come May.  I must say the past year and a half have been something else, I guess I can be thankful I didn't need knee surgery last summer as I'm just now finising up paying for the MRI and PT.  I'll stop my ranting, hope everyone has a great first day of spring tomorrow.  ~Betti~
The BBT stopped last evening with my BBB delivered by the guy in the BBS.  I was just finishing my carrot cake with a little FF whipped topping when I heard the "magic sound" of his truck stopping below.  He had it in his hands and didn't have me sign this time, it was someone different than prior times.  Usually they set it down and I just push it across my carpet to the storage bin area but I took it in my arms, he asked if it were too heavy, and I told him it's lighter than usual.  Just under 32# but I carried it into the other room without any problems.  I decided to wait to put it away until today since I had other things to do last night.  By the way does anyone know how to soften up the carrot cake?  I have one left and it seems like they are very dry even with the whipped topping.  The first few were worse than the latter ones.  Have a great Friday.  Mr. Scale showed me another .4# loss, I'll gladly take it.  I'm off to breakfast and my workout before getting ready to go to the Dermatology clinic for a skin check (joy-joy).  ~Betti~
Well, today my new BBB arrives--hope it's earlier than he's been coming through with deliveries since they make me sign for them.  I say just leave it at my door and I'll get it in, no one will see it because the door isn't visible from the street.  One time I had left a note on the door to leave it and he still rang my doorbell, I actually was home, and forgot to take the note off the door.  He said they still ring the bell just to make sure.  Here's hoping your Thursday is a good one.  ~Betti~
Are you wearin' your green today?  Several years ago I was out of town for a high school basketball tournament and it happened to be St. Patrick's Day.  We went to a little gift shop and one of the buttons they had was printed in red and said, "kiss me I'm Polish".  I hope everyone's dream comes true no matter what it is.  Enjoy your day my friends.  ~Betti~
Morning to all you Nutribuddies out there.  My next box has shipped and I should have it in a couple of days.  There are so many "newbies" out there, welcome, and you will love the plan.  I don't see as many "old-timers" like myself much any more.  Several people in my friends' list haven't posted in a very long time and I don't know if they've reached their goals, are still at it like me, or just plain gave up on the plan.  This blogging has really gotten to be a good release for me.  When I first started I only did it a few times in the first 3 months or so and that was usually when I had a question or a comment on someone else's blog.  I don't think I've missed a day since then except when my computer went down or was on vacation and didn't have computer access.  Actually come to think of it I blogged when my computer went down a few times while using a computer at the public library.  I know this isn't NS related but it was what was on my mind this morning.  Have a terrific day everyone.  ~Betti~
BBB
My next BBB is due to be delivered this week, oh goody.  I will be starting on it 3 days before I'll be on my liquids and laxative diet for a little over a day (*).  I weighed in for Marie's challenge this morning and almost couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing.  The scale has definitely become my friend lately.  It's about time I think since I started year #3 on 1Feb2010.  They say we may break a record high temperature for the day of 63ยบ.  Right now it's cloudy but no rain is expected.  Have a great day everyone and enjoy it.  ~Betti~
Darn DLST, my eating times are already messed up.  I stepped on the scale for a quick idea for the final one in Marie's challenge and I was pleasantly surprised, in fact I couldn't believe it.  My next box ships tomorrow so I'll have some new things to look forward to.  I'll miss one entire day of foods in a couple of weeks plus a breakfast the next day, too.  Hopefully I'll be able to get back in the saddle at lunch time that next day, I did before anyway but then I'm 5 years older (*).  Have a great Sunday and I'm off to breakfast.  ~Betti~
Here's a little friendly reminder--at 2:00 am tomorrow morning day light savings time starts once again.  It seems to get earlier and earlier and a lot of people believe we may go to it year round at some point down the road.  I know I'll lose an hour sleep tonight and it's my late night to stay up and watch AMW.  I can always go to bed a little earlier tomorrow night but it'll be lighter later and then my schedule will really be off (*).  I'm off to breakfast and the morning paper before heading off to get my hair cut and buy my weekly add-ins.  Have a great day everyone, it's gonna rain here today so may need my snorkel and floaties.  ~Betti~
Yet again this week I showed a loss, .6# down.  I think the few minor tweaks I did to my plan have helped, at least the scale is saying they did.  Someone several months back mentioned freshly squeezed lemonade first thing in the morning.  Well I was doing that but to make it more paltible I was adding one packet of Sweet 'n Low to it (no calories).  I decided to eliminate the packet and that's when my weight started dropping again.  Also in the past month I've dropped one of my Crystal Light packets and just had a plain glass of water with dinner and that seems to have helped, too.  I'm glad my body is used to all the liquids I've been drinking as come the 29th that's all I will be allowed for over 24 hours.  Some of it has to be a "salted" broth, I'm assuming since I'll be losing nutrients with the laxatives it will help keep me hydrated.  I have a list put together of things I need to buy for that day, like clear juices, plain tea, popsicles, broth, gatorade, etc.  I'll have to be diligent in reading the labels as I can't have anything with red dye 40 in them.  Here's to a good day my friends.  We are due to be wet and blustery later on.  ~Betti~
