holidays
I went to Walgreens yesterday to pick up a couple of prescriptions.  While waiting for the one I didn't know about I was wandering around the store.  This lady and I got talking about the holidays.  They had more stuff out for Christmas than Thanksgiving.  Granted it's a small store but as I was looking at cards we were saying how Christmas is getting earlier and earlier every year.  I decided to buy a box of cards rather than making them on my computer with a program I bought several years ago.  My printer needs ink and right now the black one still works but the colored one is out so I just bought some "store-bought" ones.  Here's to a great "hump day", enjoy it.  Betti

Wow, Christmas card time already...and Hanukkah is even closer...begins on December 11, 2009 at sundown...I guess I better pull out those cards we bought last month when they were on the pre-holiday sale at Border's and start addressing.

To think, Turkey Day is just next week, then New Year's will be here before we know it...wow, how time flies now that I am not a youngster anymore :o)

I've decided to forego the Christmas cards this year. Hopefully I'll write the annual letter to everyone when I get back from vacation so I have some good news for everyone. I've noticed that Thanksgiving gets overlooked a lot. Seems Halloween and Christmas run into each other. I've always loved the autumn colors and Thanksgiving stuff. Will put up the Christmas stuff this weekend. While the kids are home from college at Thanksgiving, we'll have our little Christmas time because we aren't going to take presents along on vacation. Hope you have a great day...dj

I was always on board with the old "not until after Thanksgiving" store tradition, as well as personal decorations. I CAN understand those who have very large properties who decorate a LOT getting started early, but please....the store decor is WAY early, and seems it will only get worse.

As far as cards, we ordered some a few weeks ago (I think), or at least picked them out, so you're not alone with the card thingy ;o)

Yep, I saw the first house on my block already decorated for Christmas. That does seem early to me as well.

Enjoy your Wednesday.
